Some Tulsa college students let their imaginations run wild and it paid off for them.

Nine engineering students from Oral Roberts University built a robot, called the ORU Spirit. It won second place in a robot competition at a mechanical engineers leadership conference in Longview, Texas.

The robot can crawl over barriers twice its size in order to get around simulated mine fields and retrieve cylinders.
