(McAlester-AP) -- Three McAlester Army Ammunition Plant workers were sent to a health clinic and a warehouse and office buildings were evacuated after a chemical leak Tuesday morning.
The workers were later released from the plant's health clinic.
Plant spokesman Mark Hughes says the workers were exposed to a cleaning solvent that leaked from a drum inside a semi-trailer. Hughes says about half a 55-gallon barrel leaked the chemical.
A hazardous materials team from the plant cleaned the chemical spill and the trucking company, Covenant Transport, is sending a team to finish decontaminating the trailer.
Hughes says the leaking barrel is one of thee that were being sent to Tinker Air Force Base.
