(Tulsa-AP) -- The Tulsa women's basketball team beat Southern Methodist 61-to-50.
Both teams shot poorly in the first half of Thursday night's game. They traded the lead three times before SMU managed a four-point lead before halftime.
The Mustangs led for the first eight minutes-48 seconds of the second half before TU's Kayla Elliott tied the game with a free throw with just over 11 minutes remaining.
Allison Curtin gave Tulsa the lead for good with a layup with 8:36 left in the game.
Curtin scored 18 points, grabbed five rebounds, gave six assists and collected seven steals.
The game ended a three-game losing streak for Tulsa, which improves to 13-and-11 and 8-and-5 in the Western Athletic Conference.
