(Tulsa-AP) -- Oklahoma native John Herrington, the first American Indian in space, was in Tulsa Wednesday afternoon.

Herrington was at the Tulsa Air and Space Museum. Herrington is a Wetumka native and member of the Chickasaw Nation.

He became the first Indian in space in November when he was part of the crew of the space shuttle Endeavour that traveled to the international space station.
