TULSA, Okla. (AP) _ Oklahoma City has the third most affordable housing market in the nation and Tulsa ranks No. 12, according to a study released by Coldwell Banker Real Estate Corp.
The price of an average 2,200-square-foot home in Oklahoma City this year was $114,875. The same home in Tulsa would cost $135,375.
In Palo Alto, Calif., the most expensive housing market in the nation, the price would be about $1.25 million.
The most affordable housing market in the nation was in Yankton, South Dakota, followed by Minot, North Dakota, the study said.
Nine of the 12 most affordable markets listed by the study are within the Midwest region, while the most expensive markets are on the West Coast or in the Northeast region of the country.
