The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is taking flight, to help stop dangerous and deadly driving on the roads.

They're taking aim on Highway 62 in Muskogee County, where traffic fatalities are on the rise. The crackdown comes after three teens lost their lives on this stretch of road.

Troopers have begun what they call ‘Operation Skywatch for Life.’ OHP trooper Scott Miller, "What we'll have is we'll have one or two aircraft in the air. We'll have our patrol cars stationed in a certain point."

Muskogee County resident, Gerald Ford, "There's been wrecks out here, every week there's a wreck. They're thinking they're doing 45 mile an hour and they're doing 70."

Law enforcement from Muskogee and Tahlequah will team up on the crackdown. They hope to see results by the time the new school year starts.
