PHILADELPHIA (AP) â€” Guard Kevin Ollie was signed Friday by the Philadelphia 76ers, who also waived guard Vernon Maxwell.

Ollie averaged 1.2 points and 1.3 assists in 19 games this season prior to being waived by the New Jersey Nets on Dec. 15.

Ollie played 40 games with the 76ers after signing in November of 1999 as a free agent. He averaged 1.8 points and 1.2 assists. He also has played for Dallas, Orlando, and Sacramento.

Maxwell, signed Oct. 27 as a free agent, played in 24 games for the 76ers, averaging 5 points and 1.2 assists. He started in six of the last seven games.
