(Tulsa-AP) -- Donald Shoals has a badge of honor following Tulsa's loss.

Coach Keith Burns says Shoal has a big time shiner -- an eye that shows Shoal's was in a fight Saturday, when he had the best receiving game of his career.

Tulsa lost to the Cowboys 36-to-26.

Shoals caught nine passes for a career-best 151 yards.

Burns thinks Shoals suffered his puffy left eye in a 41-yard catch he made leaping between Oklahoma State defenders in the second quarter.

Burns says he hopes Shoals will be ready when the Golden Hurricane visits Rice for their Western Athletic Conference football opener Saturday.
