BOSTON (AP) — George Bush will be the first president honored by the Kennedy Library Foundation with its Distinguished American Award.

The late president's daughter, Caroline, will present Bush with a bronze bust of JFK on May 21 at the library.

The award honors those who have played significant roles in American public affairs. Past recipients include Betty Freidan, John Kenneth Galbraith, Henry Kissinger, Marian Wright Edelman and Archibald Cox.

Bush will participate in a discussion of his published collection of letters, ``All the Best,'' in a session moderated by John Seigenthaler, former aide to Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy and chairman of the Freedom Forum at Vanderbilt University.
