(New York-AP) -- Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan says that while the U-S economy is doing well -- dangers could lurk.

In a speech to the Economic Club of New York, he says growing imbalances between strong consumer demand and the dwindling supply
of available workers could derail economic expansion.

He also repeated concerns expressed in the past that the huge runup in stock prices could reverse itself without warning.

But Greenspan did express an upbeat assessment of the economy's current performance. He notes that next month it'll become the longest expansion in U-S history, surpassing the 106 months of uninterrupted growth in the 1960s.

Greenspan did not specifically address the issue of whether interest rates will be raised again. But it's widely expected that the Fed will raise rates during a meeting next month.
