NORMAN, Okla. (AP) _ The University of Oklahoma plans a new student academic services center focusing on undergraduate education.
The center will be paid partially with a $2.5-million gift from Lissa and Cy Wagner of Midland, Texas. The Wagner gift also will provide $1-million for Sooner Heritage Scholarships, which will provide scholarships to about 50 students.
OU President David Boren says the 38,000-square-foot building is part of OU's dedication to improving undergraduate success. It will house student advisers, a writing center, computer labs, high-tech classrooms, study areas and an all-night coffee bar.
The center will cost between $10-million and $12-million.
