STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) _ Oklahoma State football coach Mike Gundy is promoting running backs coach Curtis Luper to assistant head coach for player development.

Luper will continue coaching the Cowboys' running backs.

Luper joined Gundy's first staff in 2005 and was an OS-U running back for three seasons in the 1980s.

He graduated from Stephen F- Austin and coached at Stephen F- Austin, Texas A&M-Commerce and New Mexico before returning to OSU.
