LOS ANGELES (AP) University of Oklahoma sophomore Courtney Paris finishes 3rd in voting for the women's John R. Wooden Award announced Saturday.

Tennessee's Candace Parker won the women's award after leading Tennessee to its seventh NCAA championship.

Kevin Durant of Texas captured the men's award in a runaway, becoming the first freshman to win the trophy and completing a sweep of the top six national male player of the year honors.

Durant outdistanced Ohio State freshman Greg Oden in the balloting of more than one-thousand voters, including sports media and college basketball experts.
