NORMAN, Okla. (AP) The Oklahoma women's basketball team has learned its opponent for the upcoming NCAA Sweet 16, and it's not the one that the Sooners expected.

Seventh-seeded Mississippi stunned defending national champion and 2nd-seeded Maryland 89-78 Tuesday night in a second-round tournament game in Hartford, Connecticut, meaning the Rebels will take on 3rd-seeded OU on Sunday in a regional semifinal in Dayton, Ohio.

Ole Miss is 23-10 while the Sooners are 28-4.

If OU wins Sunday, the Sooners will play either top-seeded Tennessee or 13th-seeded Marist on Tuesday with a bid to the Final Four at stake.
