It was a fun day for students at Burroughs Elementary School in Tulsa. The kids danced their hearts out Tuesday in celebration of black history month.

The Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame and the US Postal Service hosted the celebration, which included a jazz concert and dance competition.

Students also enjoyed a show-and-tell of stamps commemorating notable black Americans.

This year's honoree is singer Ella Fitzgerald. Chuck Cissel, CEO of the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame says, “This is American History. Ella Fitzgerald is a part of the American fabric, great vocalist, great human being and a great humanitarian. Did a lot for young people.”
