IRVING, Texas (AP) _ Former Oklahoma coach Gary Gibbs is one of the latest prospects for the head coaching job with the Dallas Cowboys.

The Cowboys plan to talk to Gibbs -- now defensive coordinator at New Orleans -- and San Francisco offensive coordinator Norv Turner. Both are former Dallas assistants.

The Cowboys added Jason Garrett to their coaching staff Thursday -- and say he remains a candidate to replace retired head coach Bill Parcells.

Garrett backed up Hall of Fame quarterback and Oklahoma native Troy Aikman from 1993-99.

The Cowboys say Garrett's responsibilities and title won't be determined until the head coaching search is complete.

The most likely scenario -- however -- is that Garrett will become the offensive coordinator if he's not the head coach.
