STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) Oklahoma State defensive coordinator Vance Bedford won't return next season.

Coach Mike Gundy today said both men agreed it might be a good time for a change.

Bedford played college football at Texas and played for the NFL's St. Louis Cardinals in 1982.

The former assistant for the Chicago Bears was an original member of Gundy's staff when he was hired in 2004.

Oklahoma State last season ranked tenth in the Big 12 in scoring defense and ninth in the conference in total defense.

Before joining Gundy's staff, Bedford spent six years coaching the Bears secondary. Before that, he was on the coaching staff for Michigan's 1997 national championship team.
