OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) A state lawmaker is proposing a sales tax break for Oklahoma's Blue Star Moms who send items to their children who are serving in the military.

Representative Wade Rousselot says he'll work on a bill to give the mothers a sales tax exemption when they buy items to send to servicemen who are at war.

Rousselot says he got the idea after getting a phone call from a sales clerk who asked why the Blue Star Moms had to pay sales taxes on goods they're sending to the troops.

The Blue Star Moms in Oklahoma have actively gathered items to send as care packages to servicemen and women.
