City leaders are working to curb Tulsa's gang problem with a gang prevention summit.

Tulsa Police say at least a third of Tulsa's homicide's this year have been gang-related. Most of these victims were teenagers and young adults. Tulsa leaders say that will be the focus as they try to prevent gangs in the future.

John Calhoun with the National Crime Prevention Council: "So it’s hey, we don't tolerate this stuff. But how can we help? Mentoring, job training, getting a GED."

Former gang member Jaime Espalin: "He totally hit on exactly where my heart's at with kids. We've got to change them from the inside out, not a full frontal attack on gangs in general."

The summit wraps up today.
