HARTSHORNE, Okla. (AP) -- One person was killed when his car struck a second vehicle at a Pittsburg County intersection.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 40-year-old Robert J. Nichter of Wilburton was pronounced dead at the scene of Thursday's collision.
Troopers say the collision occurred on a county road eleven miles north of Hartshorne. The patrol says Nichter's car was southbound when it struck a westbound vehicle that failed to stop at a stop sign.
The driver of the other car, 52-year-old Kenneth Bohnert of Mustang, was listed in critical condition at a Muskogee hospital.
Troopers say Nichter wasn't wearing a seat belt.
