OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ The head of the Oklahoma Historical Society is asking ethnic Oklahomans to contribute relics that might help to tell the story of Oklahoma's diversity.

Bob Blackburn says the new $59-million Oklahoma History Center will open in November and will include a diversity exhibit.

He says that for too long the history of Oklahoma has been shared as a history of white Europeans and American Indians.

Blackburn says the narrow view has ignored the contributions of many other racial and ethnic groups that helped settle the state including people from the Middle East.
