OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ A report on the use of purchase cards by the state Tourism Department uncovers sloppy accounting but no new criminal activity.
The audit details missing receipts, loss of forms and prohibited purchases. The 16-page report was prepared by the Department of Central Services.
The report now will be forwarded to Governor Brad Henry, Attorney General Drew Edmondson and state Auditor and Inspector Jeff McMahan.
The audit comes nearly two months after a former Tourism Department employee was charged with five felony counts of embezzlement. Angela Hanson is accused of using her state-issued purchase card to pay for more than 20-thousand dollars in personal expenses.
