DURANT, Okla. (AP) -- Bryan County prosecutors have charged a former Durant Goodwill Store manager with embezzlement.
Forty-three-year-old Dana Eddins was charged July 6th for allegedly stealing tens of thousands of dollars from the store. She was released on her own recognizance.
Investigators allege the Mead resident had been pocketing money from a register shortly after she began working with the nonprofit organization in July 2002.
Investigators don't know how much money she allegedly stole.
Ron Harris of Goodwill Industries of Northeast Texas says an assistant manager at the Durant store tipped him to the suspected embezzlement. Harris then discovered daily discrepancies in register journal tapes.
According to an affidavit, investigators later found large deposits in Eddins' checking account that she couldn't explain.
