ADA, Okla. (AP) A former state senator is among five candidates seeking to become the next chief of the Seminole Nation.

Enoch Kelly Haney will face Willis Eugene Deatherage, James Milam, James Factor and Robert Davis in the tribe's election on Saturday.

Haney served in the state House from 1981 to 1986 and in the state Senate from 1987 to 2002. He and the other candidates are seeking to replace Ken Chambers, who decided not to seek a second four-year term.

Voters will also be choosing the tribe's assistant chief and 28 general council members in the election.
