The News on 6 first told you about Zachary Moore last year. He is a 3 year old Stillwater boy with progeria.
Zach and his family are bound for Boston for a research conference about the rare disorder. Progeria causes little Zachary's body to age far too quickly. It affects only one in every eight-million people and Zachary says he can't wait to meet more kids like him.
Zach’s dad, Keith Moore: "He's really excited about meeting some kids that are facing similar changes that he is and bonding with them and their family."
The conference allows the Moore’s to participate in discussions with scientists and hear about the latest research on the disease.
Keith Moore says though the average life span of a child with progeria is 7 to 10 years, the latest DNA research is giving them hope for a cure.
