OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Grady County authorities say a body found near Amber this week is that of a missing Houston woman who disappeared while fleeing Hurricane Rita.

Sheriff Kieran McMullen says the body is that of 59-year-old Sheril Moore. The body was found Tuesday in a field near where her sport utility vehicle was found last Thursday.

Undersheriff Irene Perske says the cause of death hasn't been determined, but is being investigated as a homicide.

Moore disappeared September 23rd while driving from Houston to her son's home in Golden, Colorado, to escape the hurricane.

She was last seen by a Newcastle police officer who gave her directions and escorted her to Interstate 44 and last saw her heading north on I-44.
