SALT LAKE CITY (AP) _ Utah firefighters are in Oklahoma helping that state battle raging wildlands fires.
Record high temperatures and the worst drought since 1917 in Oklahoma are fueling fires that have scorched tens of thousands of acres and forced hundreds of homes to be evacuated.
Utah has sent crews from Salt Lake County, the Division of Fire, Forestry and State Lands, the US Forest Service and the Bureau of Land Management.
The Utah firefighters are stationed at a fire just outside the town of Loco, in southern Oklahoma. That fire joined with two others, growing from a one thousand-acre fire to 15 thousand acres recently.
