Oklahoma City police are looking for a suspect accused of stabbing a man on Monday near northwest 39th and Pennsylvania Avenue. The victim, Jesse Moore, drove to Penn Square Mall with a large stab wound in his leg. Officers met him in the parking lot of the mall, and he was transported to a local hospital.
“I felt like it was a life or death situation just go,” said Moore. “If I have to go to jail for running him over I will.”
The violent attack happened in the parking lot of 20-year-old Moore's apartment complex. Moore, his girlfriend and their 3-year-old daughter were in their truck when they captured a fight on camera.
“He had her like this in a choke hold,” said Moore. “She was like get off my, get off my property.”
Moore’s girlfriend Destiny Lewis, 20, took out her phone and recorded the fight. The suspect in the video saw Moore and came over to the truck.
“When he came to my side, I rolled the window up,” said Moore. “That’s when he opened up the door and that’s when he started swinging at me not with the knife but with his hands.”
During the struggle Moore was stabbed in the leg.
“He was like babe I think I’m cut,” said Lewis. “I think I’m stabbed and I’m like go, go, go, go.”
Lewis said even though they hit the suspect with their truck while they were leaving, the man continued to chase them on foot.
“We were on the phone with 911 the whole time on the way to Penn Square Mall,” said Lewis.
Moore is now recovering after getting 13 stitches.
Police said the suspect was long gone when officers arrived at the apartments.
“We were able to find somebody who knew a little information about the suspect,” said Sgt. Megan Morgan, Oklahoma City Police Department. “So hopefully we will be able to follow up on that and get an arrest made in this case.”
The victim said police told him the suspect has been to prison and is wanted for another assault case.
