1 Detained After Weatherford Woman Found Fatally Shot

A man has been detained by police after a woman was found fatally shot, Weatherford police said.

Police were called about 8:45 p.m. Monday to the 500 block of E Main Street in reference to shots being fired.

When officers arrived, they found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound to her chest.

She was taken to Weatherford Regional Hospital where she died. She was identified as Ashley Barr, 30, of Weatherford.

Officers detained a man at the scene and are investigating the homicide.

Police have not identified the man in custody.
