Fingers crossed on this one, Moderna, a pharmaceutical company has tested its coronavirus vaccine on humans, and it appears to be safe and stimulated an immune response to the virus.
That's great, but it's only been tested on 8 people so far…8.
They're going to start a test with 600 people soon, and if that goes well, thousands of people could be give the Moderna vaccine in July.
And did you know at least four other pharmaceutical giants or teams of companies are already in human testing with their vaccines?
The experts say we'll need them all to vaccinate the world and stop COVID-19.
Those same experts said there's no way we we'll have a vaccine any faster than a year from now.
It's amazing what can happen when you set human ingenuity on fire and challenge the greatest minds in the world.
And what I've believed from the beginning was the biggest game changer, technology-mainly speed of communication.
That a doctor in Germany can in the blink of an eye share his breakthroughs with a doctor here in the U.S. as if they're working shoulder to shoulder in the lab.
We need to continue to be smart, keep our distance, keep our hands clean, but there is reason to be hopeful and it's not necessarily a year away.
I'm Kelly Ogle and that's My 2 Cents.
