Victim Identified In Accidental Shooting At MWC Trailer Park

Police have identified the victim in an accidental deadly  shooting at a Midwest City trailer park. 

According to authorities, a man was shot and killed Sunday afternoon at the Village Oaks Trailer park in the 9400 block of Southeast 29th Street. 

Police said officers responded to a 911 call about the shooting around 4:40 p.m. and found 21-year-old Joshua Allen dead from a single gunshot wound to the chest. According to report, the 911 caller said "I need an ambulance fast, my brother was messing with a gun and it went off accidentally hitting his best friend”.

Witnesses told police that an adult male was inside the trailer cleaning a semi-automatic handgun when he accidentally discharged the weapon and struck Allen, who was playing a video game. 

"This is still an active case but at this time, all evidence indicates the shooting was not intentional - an unfortunate, tragic event while mishandling a loaded firearm," Chief Bandon Clabes said.
