I-44 WB Reopens Following Wrong Way Crash Involving Semi

Oklahoma Highway Patrol Troopers have reopened Interstate 44 westbound after being shut down for several hours Friday morning following a wrong way crash involving a semi-truck.

Troopers said a driver was traveling in the wrong direction of the WB lanes of I-44 when it crashed head-on into a semi-truck.

The accident took place near the Belle Isle Bridge in between North Western Avenue and North Classen Boulevard.

The wrong way driver is in critical condition, OHP said. No other injuries were reported.
