Tinker Air Force Base reported 11 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday. There have now been 103 cases of the coronavirus on the base since March.
The 11 new cases is a new single-day high for the base. Tinker's previous high for new cases in a day was seven, which occurred twice on June 30 and July 2.
Among the new confirmed cases are eight civilians who work on the Oklahoma City-Air Logistics Complex and three members of the 552nd Air Control Wing.
The 552nd Air Control Wing and Oklahoma City-Air Logistics Complex are among the areas of the base which have seen a noticeable spike in recent days. 14 cases of COVID-19 have been reported within members of the 552nd Air Control Wing since June 29. The Oklahoma City-Air Logistics Complex has had 11 cases of COVID-19 since July 2.
The base reported just 10 new positive cases between April 22 and May 27. However, 70 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported at Tinker Air Force Base since June 4.
Tinker Air Force Base reported its first case of COVID-19 on March 25.
