1 Dead In Crash Near Coweta

Coweta Police say one person is dead after a crash along State Highway 51 near 121st Street South.

Officers say it happened around 1:30 Monday morning when a truck drifted over the line and collided with a vehicle that was parked on the shoulder, causing the truck to flip into this ditch. Police say when they arrived both of the drivers were standing but the passenger in the parked car was killed as a result of the collision.

Coweta police chief Mike Bell says the investigation is ongoing.

"We have notified OHP's accident investigation. They will be out later on today to help us finish up the accident investigation," said Bell.

Highway 51 between 121st and 131st reopened just after 5:30 a.m.
