Oklahoma redshirt junior running back Kennedy Brooks has decided to opt out of the 2020 college football season, News 9 has confirmed.
The news was first reported Sunday by Jason Kersey of The Athletic.
According to The Athletic's report, Brooks informed Oklahoma coach Lincoln Riley of his decision to opt out on Sunday.
Brooks decided to return to Norman last December after he considered entering the 2020 NFL Draft. He would have been OU's top returning rusher after the departure of quarterback Jalen Hurts to the NFL.
Former OU running back Trey Sermon announced his transfer to Ohio State back in April.
Brooks ran for 1,011 yards and six touchdowns during the 2019 season.
