Oklahoma City police arrested two men who are accused in a deadly shooting.

Shots were fired in the parking lot of a convenience store near NE 23rd and Lottie Avenue.

The parking lot of the Community Food Mart turned into a crime scene after someone in the area heard gunshots.

“When officers arrived they found two victims there,” said Master Sgt. Gary Knight, Oklahoma City Police Department. “A male and female.”

The double shooting then turned into a murder investigation. Both victims were taken to a nearby hospital where police said the man died at the hospital and the woman was rushed into surgery.

The suspects were identified as Cori Gay, 22, and Marlon Craft, 42. They did not get far from the scene before police caught up with them.

“Both suspects fled the scene,” said Knight. “(They) engaged in a short chase with officers. A very brief chase shortly thereafter, both were taken into custody.”

During the investigation, police learned Gay and Craft were involved in a confrontation with the man. Gay is accused of pulling the trigger and fatally shooting the man. Police think the other victim may have been an accidental shooting.

The investigation is ongoing. Police ask that witnesses come forward if they saw or heard the moments leading up to the shooting.

“We know there was a confrontation but we have no idea if these people knew each other previously,” said Knight. “Or if something happened in the parking lot that just led up to the shooting. We’re still trying to work through those details.”

At last check, the woman is still in the hospital in critical condition. Police have not released the victim's names.

Both suspects were booked into the Oklahoma County jail on first-degree murder complaints.
