Flix Brewhouse Ready To Open In NE OKC

A new movie theater which allows guests to enjoy dinner and drinks in their seats will be opening soon.

The Flix Brewhouse is off of Interstate 235 between Wilshire Boulevard and Britton Road and will officially open next Wednesday, Sept. 2. 

The theater has a full service restaurant and its own brewery.

“We are the world’s only movie theater that has a full brewery in house,” said Flix Brewhouse General Manager Nick Toros.

Many Oklahoma beers will also be on tap.

Construction was completed in April, but due to the pandemic, the opening was pushed back.

There are a number of safety precautions.

For starters, movie moviegoers will be separated by two empty seats.

“We installed plasma ionizers in all our theaters that circulates the air and cleans all the bacteria or anything in the air,” said Toros.

There will also be sanitation stations throughout the nine-theater building.

This is the 10th Flix Brewhouse nationwide.

It's the first tenant to open at the new development called The Half.

Flix hopes to cash in on the backlog of movies whose release dates were pushed back by the pandemic.

Christopher Nolan’s film, Tenet, will be one of the first movies featured at Flix Brewhouse.

“When Christopher Nolan’s spends $200 million, it’s the cinematic experience he’s looking for and it’s different watching it here than at home,” said Toros.

Flix is expected to post contests on its social media where people can win tickets to see a movie during their soft opening on Monday and Tuesday.
