The childhood home of OSU benefactor T. Boone Pickens has a new home. It now sits on a golf course in Stillwater, which is also Pickens' final resting place.

OSU held a virtual dedication of the home Friday, on the anniversary of Pickens’ death, to honor a man who has given so much to Oklahoma State University.

"He really did inspire I think a whole Cowboy nation that they could be more than they ever dreamed they could be and that's the most valuable gift he gave us," said OSU President Burns Hargis.

Hargis said T. Boone Pickens' childhood home, originally located in Holdenville, has now been moved to Karsten Creek, home of the OSU men's and women's golf teams where Pickens loved to play. The home isn't the only thing on the golf course, Pickens' final resting place is just outside his childhood bedroom window.

"Karsten Creek is a very special place and it’s very fitting that they put [the home] right there on that piece of property in a very open place for everybody to see," said OSU alum and former NFL quarterback Brandon Weeden.

Weeden remembers T. Boone Pickens fondly because of everything he did for the university.

"I don't think there was anything he was more passionate about than he was about Oklahoma State. Like I said, he was a special guy and we're lucky to call him one of our own," Weeden said.

The dedication shared a message that so many in the OSU family feel, that T. Boone Pickens' legacy will always be remembered.
