"If you ever got the opportunity to meet Paisley, you couldn't help but to smile when she was around," said Aaron Hamilton, Paisley’s grandfather.
That's how Paisley Claire Palmer's grandfather remembers her.
Paisley was the light in her family's lives.
She passed away in November of last year in a car accident. She was 5 years old.
But her memory lives on not only in her family's minds, but in their charity, The Paisley Project.
Started by Paisley's parents and grandparents, the organization helps grieving parents through financial support, meals and grief support information.
"We know the struggle that they go through every single day and it never stops, so we can definitely put ourselves in their shoes," said Paisley's father Taylor Palmer.
For Paisley's family, their work is both philanthropic and therapeutic.
"With this project for us, we know that we're keeping her legacy alive. It just helps the healing process," said Kim Hamilton, Paisley's grandmother.
Friends and family are hard at work for this weekend's event. The Paisley Project will host their first ever music festival at Hollywood Corners Station in Norman.
There will be a live auction, raffles, and musical acts the whole day.
Admission is free, but donations are appreciated.
"It's really huge for us. It's getting our name out there more than it has been, so really excited for that," said Paisley's mom Chelsea Palmer.
if you'd like to come out on Saturday, the event runs from noon to 11:30 p.m. and there will be plenty of music. Nine acts are donating their time playing at Hollywood Corners Station in Norman on Saturday.
