Spirit AeroSystems Announces Closure Of McAlester Plant

Spirit AeroSystems announced it will close it's McAlester plant.

Officials said layoffs will begin in December and finish in May, 2021.

Officials said this would impact roughly 177 employees.

Officials said is is due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the continued grounding of the Boeing 737 MAX series.
