Two days after a former Oklahoma City attorney pleaded guilty in federal court, a man accused of being her accomplice took a similar plea deal.
Barry Titus pleaded guilty to a charge of being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm that crossed state lines to get to Oklahoma.
Two days ago, former Oklahoma City attorney Keegan Harroz changed her plea from not guilty to guilty for a federal weapons charge. Harroz pleaded guilty on a charge of being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm.
In court, the judge focused heavily on making sure Titus knew what civil rights he would be giving up, like the right to vote, be on a jury trial and the right to own a firearm, if his plea is accepted.
In the plea agreement between both parties, it is recommended Titus spend 30 to 36 months in prison. In the agreement was also dismissing other charges and the government cease their investigation into when Titus had possession of the gun.
Harroz is accused of intimidating Tiffany Eichor during a trial where she represented Barry Titus.
In September 2019, Eichor and her parents Jack and Evelyn Chandler were found shot to death in their Beggs, Oklahoma, home.
Harroz and Titus were named persons of interest in the case but there have been no charges.
As of Thursday, formal sentencing dates have not been set for either Harroz or Titus. For now, they will remain in the custody of the U.S. Marshals.
