Tahlequah Man Sentenced After Setting Fire To Ex-Wife’s Apartment

A man from Tahlequah has been sentenced to five years in prison for arson.

John Haeberle was convicted of breaking into his ex-wife’s apartment in February and then setting it on fire. Investigators said he kicked in the front door and set the fire, then texted her the next day to say that he was the one who did it.

Haeberle was arrested a short time after, hiding in the woods with a rifle.
