Representative Markwayne Mullin has been re-elected to the U.S. House of Representatives, the Associated Press projects.
Republican Mullin was elected with 75% of the vote over democratic challenger Danyell Lanier, who garnered 22% of the vote, with 99% of precincts reporting. The Libertarian candidate Richard Castaldo took 3% of the vote.
Mullin has served in the House since 2013 and represents Oklahoma’s second congressional district.
Mullin said he's thrilled to continue to serve the state of Oklahoma.
"You know we are going to continue to represent Oklahoma and Oklahoma values," Mullin said. "This year has been a rough year for us, a lot of people said a lot of prayers for our family because my son got injured real bad and it blessed me because getting to represent the great state of Oklahoma and people praying for us has been unbelievable. So, my renewed energy to go in and make sure our voice is heard."
