Scissortail Park is hosting a family-friendly New Years Eve celebration with COVID-19 safety measures in mind.

The park said it’s custom-built scissortail bird logo is ready to be raised during the countdown to 2021.

The countdown starts at 7 p.m., so families will have enough time to get home and ready for early bedtimes.

Immediately after the bird is raised, the park said a five minute fireworks show will begin, rain or shine.

The live music has been canceled and the skating park is closed because of winter weather.

The park said food trucks will be around and the Hot Chocolate Hut will be open.

Visitors will be able to watch from the Love’s Travel Stop stage and Great Lawn.

“We just ask people to maintain social distancing,” said Stacey Aldridge with the Scissortail Park Foundation. “And you know wear masks when you’re around people outside of your household.”

The event starts at 4 p.m.
