With all the winter weather many students haven’t had days off from their schoolwork like in years past. Instead, they have been learning from the comfort of their own homes.

Jenny Street has two kids in the Deer Creek district who have been remote learning all week due to the weather.

“With canvas and remote learning teachers have gone above and beyond, they create videos they upload videos,” said Street.

For her, the choice to remote learn on a snow day was and is a win, win. She said she can’t complain with it at all.

“I’d rather play it safe than sorry,” said Street.

Robert Romines, the superintendent of Moore Public Schools said the job to call off school is easier knowing there is an option for kids in the district to learn.

“If you don’t do a virtual day those have to be made up. So, you have to add those on at the end of the year,” said Romines.

He said even though the decision is easier, they still make sure to drive the roads and neighborhoods before they make the final call.
