Record-cold temperatures led to a water main break Tuesday night at Northwest 39th Street and North MacArthur Boulevard in Warr Acres, causing a mess at the intersection.

News 9 crews on the scene said they saw multiple cars plowing through the water and hydroplaning. Thankfully, no cars crashed.

Snowplow crews said they were working for hours trying to clean up the water that’s seeping out of the ground.

“That’s why I’m out here, trying to plow all this open,” said James a snowplow driver. “Kind of open up all the drainages so it has somewhere to go.”

Residents can help prevent situations like this from happening by conserving water.

Warr Acres officials said the water main break has impacted the city's water pressure.
