USGS: 3.7-Magnitude Earthquake Felt In Major County

The United States Geological Survey said portions of northwest Oklahoma experienced a 3.7-magnitude earthquake on Sunday afternoon.

The United States Geological Survey said portions of northwest Oklahoma experienced a 3.7-magnitude earthquake on Sunday afternoon.

According to the USGS' preliminary report, the earthquake occurred just after 3:30 p.m. Sunday. The survey said the earthquake's epicenter is south of U.S. Highway 412 in Major County.

For context, the earthquake happened approximately 15.2 miles west of Enid, 58.1 miles north of El Reno and 71 miles north-northwest of Oklahoma City.
