The Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality said smoke from fires is leading to unhealthy air quality in the Tulsa area. On Monday, an air quality health advisory was issued by the department.
Tulsa’s air quality for Tuesday is currently in the “moderate” category, which advises those who are unusually sensitive to pollutants from being outside for too long. Tulsa and Okmulgee counties were both in the “unhealthy” category on Monday because of smoke from fires and the dry and windy conditions.
The department said conditions should improve as the week goes on as chances for rain increase.
