OHP Troopers Identify Driver Involved In Fatal Crash On I-40

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol has identified a driver who died after striking a tree in Sequoyah County on Thursday night. Troopers identified the driver as 26-year-old Eric Jewell from Muskogee. Jewell was driving a 2003 GMC Envoy at the time of the crash. According to troopers, Jewell was traveling eastbound on Interstate-40 near mile marker 323 around 11:30 p.m., when he drove off to the left side of the road into the center median, troopers said that Jewell then overcorrected and crossed the r

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol has identified a driver who died after striking a tree in Sequoyah County around 11:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Troopers identified the driver as 26-year-old Eric Jewell from Muskogee. Jewell was driving a 2003 GMC Envoy at the time of the crash.

According to troopers, Jewell was traveling eastbound on Interstate-40 near mile marker 323, when he drove off to the left side of the road into the center median, troopers said that Jewell then overcorrected and crossed the roadway to the right before crashing into a tree.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
