The Mustang community is mourning the loss of two high school students killed in an overnight night crash. It happened around 2:30am Saturday morning on a rural road near SW 89th and Czech Hall Road.

According to Mustang Police, it was a single vehicle accident and when officers arrived, the car was found off the road. They said the two teens were pronounced dead at the scene.

Friends and community members have identified the victims as Braxton Wheeler and Angel Herrera.  Both were students at Mustang High School.

Mustang officials say it’s still uncertain what exactly caused the crash, they’re still investigating.

In a statement, Kathy Knowles, the principal of Mustang High School says in part, “Our sincere condolences go out to the families of these two young people, and all who have been affected by this tragedy."

The school also said they’re offering counselors for students and staff who need the support during this difficult time.  Those in the community also put together a GoFundMe for both families, to help with medical and funeral expenses.
